Hello
Should the BJP leadership be worried about Hazare more than the farmers protesting across states and in the national capital?
Speaking to reporters in his Ralegaon Siddhi village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra on Sunday, Hazare said he had been holding protests for cultivators since the last three years, but the government has done nothing to resolve the issues.
Hazare, 81, last week broke his week-long fast over his demand for appointment of anti-corruption watchdogs.
Around 5,000 farmers from the district are likely to stage a protect outside the Ahmednagar collector's office on Monday to support Hazare's agitation.
The Army man-turned-activist has also been demanding appointment of Lokayuktas in states where such statutory anti-corruption watchdogs do not exist.
The activist has also taken up the farmers’ struggle this time. He spoke to Manorama from Ralegan Siddhi in Ahmednagar.
He criticised the NDA government, saying it had earlier assured it will appoint the Lokpal and implement the Lokpal Bill, passed by Parliament and signed by the then president in January 2014.
