Hello
Amos Serem of Kenya emerged champion in men's 3000m steeplechase.
Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco defended his title, clocking his season's best of 8:06.05, while Kenneth Rooks (8:06.41) of USA and Abraham Kibiwot (8:06.47) of Kenya took silver and bronze respectively.
Sable finished fifth in his heat with a timing of 8:15.43.
Avinash Sable finished second in men's 5000m event at the Sound Running Track Fest in Los Angeles.
India picked up two gold, four silver and three bronze on the day which was marred by controversy in the women's 100m hurdles final.
The steeplechaser finished seventh in heat number one.
Chithravel also breached the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships qualifying mark of 17.20m.
Though Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and Commonwealth Games triple jump gold medallist Eldhose Paul have decided to give the Games a miss, there are still some top athletes taking part in the multi-sport event.
One hopes that the SAI invests in foreign coaches to train Eldhose, Abdulla, Tejaswin, Sreeshankar and Sable so that they stand a reasonable chance of making it to the podium in the Paris Olympics.
The 27-year-old Sable clocked 8:11.20s to better his earlier national record of 8:12.48 and finish behind Kenyan Abraham Kibiwot (8:11.15) in 3,0000m steeplechase.
