The court issued the order against the expelled AIADMK member while considering a plea of a voter from Theni Lok Sabha constituency.
EPS thanked his supporters for his elevation. Many jubilant leaders of the main opposition party said his elevation would enable him to steer the AIADMK towards better days.
The resolution accused Panneerselvam of siding with the DMK regime and having ties with the ruling party leaders and working to weaken the AIADMK.
The meet, which stuck to the only demand of making EPS the supreme party leader, turned out to be a full show of strength of the Palaniswami camp with OPS followers heavily outnumbered.
City Civil Court IV Additional Judge J Sridevi upheld the resolution, while dismissing an application from Sasikala challenging the same.
