Shakib was handed a two-year ban, with a one-year suspended sentence, by ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit on October 29 last year, for failing to report multiple corrupt approaches by an Indian bookmaker.
Shakib, Bangladesh's Test and T20 captain and the world's No.1 all-rounder in ODIs, was initially named as the captain for the three-match T20I series.
The Bangladesh T20 captain said that Shakib's absence will be an opportunity for the youngsters in the team to step up and perform in the series against India.
