IPL champions Gujarat Titans have signed Sri Lanka's white-ball captain Dasun Shanaka to replace New Zealander Kane Williamson.
Out-of-form opener Jason Roy was dropped from the squad for the tournament in Australia.
The 31-year-old English opener was signed by Gujarat Titans for his base price of Rs 2 crore at the mega auction.
Roy retired hurt with the problem during England's 10-run loss to South Africa in their final Super 12 match.
SRH have acquired Roy at his base price of Rs 2 crore.
Roy, who was ruled out of England's home Twenty20 series against Pakistan due to a left side strain on Thursday, is the Capitals' second English player to pull out of this year's IPL after Chris Woakes.
Roy is one of two changes to the side that lost the fourth test at Old Trafford on Sunday, with bowler Craig Overton also missing out.
