World 100 metres champion Christian Coleman was banned for two years for breaching whereabouts rules, the Athletics Integrity Unit said on Tuesday.
Coleman could miss next year's Tokyo Olympics.
Defending champion Justin Gatlin took silver in 9.89sec at the age of 37 while Canada's Andre De Grasse claimed bronze in 9.90sec.
American Coleman, silver medallist in 2017 and owner of the fastest time this season, put down his gold marker by breezing to a time of 9.98 seconds to set the pace in the opening round.
