To meet festive demand, Supplyco outlets and Onam markets will remain open on Sunday (August 31) and also on Uthradam day (September 4).
The Onam kit contains 14 items, including sugar, coconut oil, toor dal, green gram dal, cowpea, cashew nuts, Milma ghee, Gold tea, payasam mix, sambar powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt.
The price of Supplyco’s subsidised Sabari coconut oil has been cut by ₹10 per litre, while the non-subsidised price has been reduced by ₹40.
The Minister said yellow card holders would receive the Onam kit from August 26.
Consumers must purchase a full litre, paying the regular price for the other half, as half-litre packs are unavailable.
The items included in the scheme will be available for prices cheaper by up to 10 per cent than the usual discounted rates, an official communication said.
