JMM leader Hemant Soren will serve as the acting chief minister until his swearing-in on November 28.
Despite throwing all its weight to snatch Jharkhand, the poll debacle has left the BJP rank and file wondering what had gone wrong.
According to the Election Commission, the polls witnessed a strong voter turnout of 68%, surpassing the 67.04% recorded in 2019.
Key contests in the election include former CM Champai Soren, now contesting on the BJP ticket in Seraikela, facing off against JMM’s Ganesh Mahli.
The Jharkhand assembly elections will take place in two phases, on November 13 and 20.
However, he did not make clear if joining the BJP was on the cards, speculations of which were rife after he landed in Delhi this morning.
Former JMM MLA Lobin Hembrom has already announced that he will join the BJP.
