The Kadavanthra SHO told the media that benamis of the cops were operating the lodge named Dreams Residency.
The Kadavanthra police conducted a raid at the lodge on October 2, 2024, during which several men and women were arrested for immoral trafficking.
The arrested government officers include a deputy superintendent of police and a deputy director of health services.
The arrested men, hailing from West Bengal and Assam, were operating a brothel at Kaloor.
In the raid, 27 vehicles, eight two-wheelers, about 400 bottles of liquor, over 500 unused condoms, and crossbows and arrows were seized, according to police.
A three-judge bench of the apex court also observed the practitioners should not be mistreated and the cops have no right to pursue criminal action against adult and consenting sex workers.
