Firecracker explosion during the Theyyam festival at the Anjoothambalam Veererkavu Temple in Nileshwar on October 29, 2024 claimed six lives and injured 154 people.
The order has been issued based on a communication from the State Pollution Control Board.
The bench comprising Justice AJ Desai and Justice VG Arun stated that though the ban will remain in place, the government can grant permission for fireworks after considering the place of worship.
Vellanad-resident Sreekumaran Nair (61) had a narrow escape after he was thrashed by some goons and dumped into a well on Sunday.
The explosion took place in the house where firecrackers were kept in large quantities.
