Manorama Online honouring writer MT Vasudevan Nair in his 90th birth year

Theatre director Prasanth Narayanan helmed the play, which featured scenes from 'Naalukettu', 'Iruttinte Athmavu', 'Kuttyedathi', Valarthu Mrigangal, Kaalam, Manju, Gopura Nadayili, Daya, Randamoozham, Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha.
Mammootty, who played Chandu in 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha' said he was not part of the initial discussions of the film.
Manorama Online is organising ‘MT Kalam – Navathi Vandanam’, an event to honour the legendary writer who turned 90 this year.
The actor recalled how as a young boy of 18 he was invited to act in 'Kanyakumari', the Malayalam film scripted by M T and directed by K T Sethumadhavan.
The dance programme, performed with images of famous temples of Kerala in the backdrop, lasted nearly an hour.
T D Ramakrishnan, E Santhoshkumar, K Rekha and Francis Noronha spoke about how MT influenced their life and writing at ‘MT Kalam – Navathi Vandanam’.
The session titled 'Musical revisit of MT cinemas' began with the rendition of 'Karayunno Puzha Chirikkunno' from the movie 'Murapennu'.
