V N Unnikrishnan (34) is now preparing for the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) which is scheduled to take place in Coimbatore, after having won the highly adventurous Annapurna offroad bike race in Nepal.
The accident took place 150m from the finishing line of the rally when a motorbike came under the car of ace rallyist.
Gill and co-driver Musa Sharif were booked under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
