Cricketers often do funky advertisements, maybe because being flamboyant comes naturally to them. But chess players? Aren't they supposed to look and act uptight? If that's your perception, a new advertisement featuring World Chess Champions Viswanathan Anand and D Gukesh will certainly change it.
The ad for an e-commerce company released Thursday is sure to cause peals of laughter for the dialogues that feature GenZ lingo, and of course, finding the two 'serious' men reveal their funny side.
As for who got a nicer 'flex', Gukesh learned it the hard way when he tried a mild banter with the veteran over their number of world titles. For a moment, Gukesh forgot that Vishy was a five-time champ.
But then Vishy tried learning GenZ lingo like 'Kabaddi', oops, 'skibidi', and got counter-checked by the 18-year-old. After all, how can Gukesh teach the GenZ lingo to someone of Vishy's age (oh, he meant stature).
Gukesh thought he could give it a try by starting with pop culture, but little did he know that Vishy could do a Michael Jackson. But in the end, Vishy at least gets the drip right. Check it out.
