World No. 1 chess player Magnus Carlsen and his girlfriend Ella Victoria Malone got married in Oslo on Saturday.
The wedding ceremony took place at the Holmenkollen Chapel in Oslo, reported Norwegian media outlet NRK. Carlsen and Malone were first spotted in public early last year during the Freestyle Chess G.O.A.T. Challenge in Germany.
Ever since, the 26-year-old Malone has regularly accompanied Carlsen to tournaments. She said how nervous she felt watching some of Carlsen's games at the recent World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship held in New York. Carlsen won the Rapid title.
Norwegian Carlsen, 34, is a five-time World Chess Champion.
