Neymar has confirmed his exit from Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. The Brazilian superstar announced his decision in a social media post on Tuesday. Al Hilal said in a separate statement that Neymar has left the club by mutual consent. The Brazilian had joined Al Hilal in 2023 from French side Paris St Germain.

The 32-year-old superstar had endured an uneventful stay in Saudi because of a long-term injury. He could only make seven appearances for Al-Hilal. "I gave everything to play and I wish we enjoyed better times on the pitch together," Neymar posted.

"To Saudi, thank you for giving me and my family a new home and new experiences. I now know the real Saudi and have friends for life. I always felt your love and passion for the game. I will be following your journey ahead as a club and a country towards 2034. Your future will be incredible, special things are happening. And I will always support you" Neymar said.

Neymar is expected to return home to his boyhood club, Santos FC, for whom he played four senior seasons, which launched him as a successor to the legendary Pele, another beloved son of Santos.

Neymar, however, made his name after moving to Europe, starting with Barcelona, whom he joined in 2017 and struck an enviable partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez that was famously dubbed 'MSN'. Neymar joined PSG in 2017 for a record-breaking 222 million Euros.
