Good news for Kerala Blasters fans as the AIFF Disciplinary Committee rescinded a red card given to defender Aiban Dohling during the ISL match against Punjab FC last Sunday.
Dohling was one of the two players sent off for the Blasters on the evening. The side managed by interim head coach T G Purushothaman still managed to secure a 1-0 win.

Dohling was issued a straight red for what was deemed violent conduct after a collision with Leon Augustine. The Blasters successfully appealed with the help of video evidence.

"The committee, after a thorough review, concluded that there was neither intentional serious foul play nor violent conduct on Aiban Dohling's part. Consequently, the red card issued has been rescinded and replaced with a caution [yellow card]," Blasters said.

The verdict makes Dohling available for the home match against Odisha FC on January 13.

The Blasters have won two of their last three matches and are placed ninth on 17 points from 15 matches. A win against Odisha could see them get closer to the playoff position. Could the successful appeal of Dohling's red card be a positive sign for the Blasters?
