A bee attack delayed half-time during the women's football friendly between India and Maldives in Bengaluru on Monday.
A linesman appeared the worst hit as he was seen running across the pitch after being stung by bees. The players, too, took cover, though it seemed they were safe.
The interruption happened in the final minute before half-time, and the game restarted about 15 minutes later. The Indian players, too, were in attack mode, humiliating the visitors with a thumping 14-0 win.
Lynda Kom scored four goals on debut, while Pyari Xaxa hit a hat-trick. Neha marked her debut with a goal, while Kajol D'Souza added a brace. Sangita Basfore, Ranjana Chanu, and Rima Halder were also among the goalscorers. India were dominant throughout, having more than 70 per cent possession.
Result: India 14 (Pyari Xaxa 7, 8, 15; Lynda Kom 12, 21, 29, 52; Neha 16, 44; Sangita Basfore 51; Ranjana Chanu 54; Kajol D'Souza 59, 66; Rimpa Halder 62)
