A 3-0 home win to end a three-game losing streak. T G Purushothaman could not have asked for a better start to his role as interim head coach of Kerala Blasters.

But the former goalkeeper kept his emotions in check post-match as he hailed the teamwork displayed by his players. "All the boys did their job, this is appreciable...we're coming up, this is great motivation," Purushothaman said.

Noah Sadaoui and substitute Alexandre Coeff scored late after an own goal from the Mohammedan goalkeeper gave the Blasters a surprise lead in the 62nd minute.

The Thrissur native said there was no magic in the quick turnaround since the sacking of Mikael Stahre that thrust him into the hot seat.

He has urged his players to continue the same going forward. "Do simple things, be positive. We don't need big changes. Be simple and effective," Purushothaman said. The Blasters next play Jamshedpur FC in Jamshedpur on December 29.
