Kerala Blasters have fired Head Coach Mikael Stahre along with his assistants Bjorn Wesstrom and Frederico Pereira Morais. The decision comes after the Blasters suffered a fifth defeat in their last six Indian Super League matches.

"The club sincerely thanks Mikael, Björn, and Frederico for their contributions throughout their time with Kerala Blasters FC. We wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors," the Blasters management said in a statement. "The new head coach will be announced in due course."

The Swede was appointed in May this year after the club chose to part ways with Serbian Ivan Vukomanovic, whose tenure saw them reach the playoffs for three straight seasons.

Under Stahre, the Blasters lost 7 of their 12 ISL matches. They won three and drew two, scoring 19 times and conceding 24, which is the worst in the league.

The Blasters' most recent defeat came against Mohun Bagan Super Giant in Kolkata, where they managed to take a 2-1 lead before losing 3-2.

"Till the new appointment is confirmed, KBFC’s Reserve Team Head Coach and Head of Youth Development, Tomasz Tchórz and assistant coach, TG Purushothaman will take over the responsibility of managing the First Team," the management said.
