West Ham United forward Michail Antonio has been hospitalised after being involved in a road traffic accident on Saturday.
Antonio's car was wrecked in the accident, but his club later confirmed that the striker was "in a stable condition". "Michail is conscious and communicating and is currently under close supervision at a central London hospital."
"At this difficult time, we kindly ask everyone to respect the privacy of Michail and his family," West Ham posted on the social media platform X.
Jamaican international Antonio has been at West Ham since 2015 and has featured in every game for the club in the Premier League this season. West Ham's next fixture is a home game with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.
