Thiruvananthapuram Kombans sealed the last remaining semifinal spot in the maiden edition of Super League Kerala following a thrilling 2-2 draw with Malappuram FC in Manjeri on Friday.

At the completion of the 10th and final round, the Kombans finished fourth in the six-team table on 13 points, while Malappuram missed out on the knockouts, finishing fifth on 10 points.

The Kombans will take on table-toppers Calicut FC in the first semifinals on November 5. In the second semifinals, Kannur Warriors will clash with Forca Kochi, on November 6. Both matches will be held at EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode.

In the much-anticipated final league match at the Payyanad Stadium, the Kombans took the lead in the 36th minute through Autemar, who scored a penalty. Paul Ramfangzauva made it 2-0 a minute into the second half.

Substitute Alejandro Lopez reduced the deficit in the 68th minute. He made it 2-2 in the dying moments after a shot deflected in off Kombans defender Renan Rocha. But Malappuram could not find a decisive third goal.
