Thodupuzha: Young Malayalee footballer Sachu Siby, who played for Chennaiyin FC in the 2023-24 Indian Super League (ISL) season, is all set to play in Europe. The 23-year-old defender has been signed by Inter Club d'Escaldes, a club based in Andorra in southwestern Europe bordering Spain and France, on a season-long loan. 

Inter Club d'Escaldes currently feature in Primera Divisio, the top-flight professional football league in Andorra. In the 2023-24 season, the club finished second in the league.

Sachu, a native of Kumily in Idukki district, currently plays for Inter Kashi in the I-League. Primarily a left full-back, Sachu will join Inter Club d'Escaldes for a salary amounting to Rs 8 lakh. 

A member of Kerala's 2022 Santhosh Trophy squad, Sachu featured in five matches for Chennaiyin in ISL 2023-24. He moved to Inter Kashi last month on a three-year contract. The club decided to send Sachu out on loan to help him develop his skills and give him exposure and match experience at the top level.

Inter Kashi, the first-ever professional club from Uttar Pradesh, debuted in the I-League in the 2023-24 season, where they finished fourth.
