Kerala Blasters have added Bjorn Wesstrom and Frederico Pereira Morais to their backroom staff for the upcoming season.

Blasters had brought in Swede Mikael Stahre as head coach following Ivan Vukomanovic's departure after a fairly successful three-year stint.

Swede Wesstrom has been named assistant coach, while Portuguese Morais will be assistant coach for set-pieces. The two will join assistant coach T G Purushothaman and goalkeeping coach Slaven Provegcki in the backroom.

Wesstrom began his coaching  career in 1999. He took on his first senior coaching role at Vasby United in 2007 and guided them to Superettan, the second highest league in Sweden. Before joining Blasters, Wesstrom served as director of football at Danish club Odense Boldklub.

Morais began his career as head coach at Portuguese club Boavista FC in 2009 before moving on to AS Monaco in Ligue 1 as a trainer from 2013 to 2015. He then joined English club Leyton Orient, where he worked as a youth training coordinator until becoming an assistant coach for the main team in 2017. From 2018 to 2023, Morais worked as the training coach at Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08.
