Mohammed Shami continues to impress in the domestic circuit as he awaits a recall to the national team ahead of next month's Champions Trophy.
The pacer bagged three wickets for Bengal against Haryana in their pre-quarterfinal match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Vadodara on Thursday.
Bengal restricted Haryana to 298/9 in 50 overs, with Shami taking 3/61. Mukesh Kumar claimed two wickets, while Nishant Sindhu and Parth Vats made 64 and 62 respectively for Haryana.
Shami last played for India in an ODI against Australia in Ahmedabad in November 2023, before being sidelined with an injury. India missed the services of the 34-year-old during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy that Australia won 3-1.
Shami is expected to be included in the Indian squad for the upcoming series against England. India play five T20Is and three ODIs against the visiting England side between January 22 and February 12. The Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan begins on February 19. Due to diplomatic tensions with Pakistan, India will play their matches in the UAE.
