Faf du Plessis is certain Virat Kohli can bounce back from his recent slump. The South African, who played alongside Kohli at RCB, wants the Indian batting star to be left alone with the decision on his international future.

"I know someone like him (Kohli) is super, super motivated; he's gone through it all before, so he knows exactly what to do," said Du Plessis. The former Proteas captain was talking to PTI on the sidelines of the SA20. On the subject of retirement, Du Plessis said: "That is very, very personal. No one can speak to you about when that time is (up) as a player, you'll know."

Kohli and India skipper Rohit Sharma struggled during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which Australia won 3-1. Kohli made just 190 runs from 9 innings, with an unbeaten hundred in Perth the highest, and Rohit's contributions were a paltry 31 runs from five innings.

Across 11 Test matches in 2024, Kohli has made just one fifty and one hundred, while Rohit's best score in the last eight Test matches was 52 in the second innings against New Zealand in Bengaluru.
