Punjab post massive 424/5 after centurion openers Abhishek, Prabhsimram add 298 in 31 overs

Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimram Singh scored cracking centuries as Punjab posted a massive 424/5 against Saurashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy List-A match in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Sharma, who captains Punjab, hit a 96-ball 170, while Singh scored 125 off 95 balls. The openers added 298 runs in 31 overs.

Sharma, who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, hit eight sixes and 22 boundaries at a strike rate of 177, while his opening partner, who represents Punjab Kings in the IPL, also hit eight sixes and 11 boundaries.
Anmol Malhotra (48) and Sanvir Singh (40) remained unbeaten to get Punjab past 400 runs. Jaidev Unadkat went for 90 runs in his 9 overs without a wicket. Saurashtra gave a good fight, making 367, but it was 57 runs short of Punjab's imposing total.
