Opener Ayush Mhatre, just 17, smashed a 117-ball 181 to power Mumbai to 403/7 against Nagaland in a Vijay Hazare Trophy List-A match in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
The right-hander hit 11 sixes and 15 boundaries as he held a 156-run partnership with fellow-opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi (56).
Captain Shardul Thakur's unbeaten 73 off just 28 balls was instrumental in getting Mumbai past 400 runs. Thakur smashed eight sixes at a strike rate of 260. Dip Borah bagged three wickets for Nagaland. Mumbai won by match by 189 runs after restricting Nagaland for 214/9. Suchith J top scored with 104 for Nagaland.
Mhatre had scored his maiden first-class century in October in just his third match of the Ranji Trophy against Maharashtra.
Still in class 12, Mhatre is the latest to come out of Mumbai's cricket factory that has produced the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan in recent years.
