Sanju Samson's batting gives his fans a feeling of exaltation and fear at the same time, and the Kerala star seems to have no intention of changing his style.

"My strength is that I'm a strong character, and my weakness is that I'm a very strong character (chuckles). I might walk in feeling very strong and tend to overdo it sometimes," Sanju said in a chat with cricket legend AB de Villiers on the latter's YouTube channel.

The unpredictable nature of Sanju's batting was evident from his most recent outing for Team India during the tour of South Africa. Sanju had reached South Africa on the back of his maiden T20I century (111), which allowed India to ensure a clean sweep of the home series against Bangladesh. He continued his fiery form with another century as India opened the South Africa tour with a win. But then he was dismissed for ducks in consecutive matches. He then produced another century (109) in the final game.

Sanju knows that his aggressive approach to batting falters sometimes, but he thinks the success rate is higher. "I'm a very intuitive batsman. If I feel the first ball has to go for six, I try to do it. Sometimes I fail, sometimes I succeed, but the consistency is a bit on the positive side." The Rajasthan Royals and India player prefers to take chances with his game. "I like to go with my feelings... I make some good decisions and some bad ones," Sanju said.
