Mumbai Indians' latest recruit, K L Shrijith, gave a sample of his potential with a swashbuckling 150 in Karnataka's big win over Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Shrijith's ton eclipsed Shreyas Iyer's unbeaten 114 that had powered Mumbai to an imposing total of 382/4.

Karnataka won by 7 wickets with 22 balls to spare. Left-handed wicket-keeper batter Shrijith remained unbeaten on 150, hitting four sixes and 20 boundaries in his 101-ball innings. Aneesh K V made 82, while Pravin Dubey scored an unbeaten 65.

Rohit Sharma's MI had secured Shrijith for a bargain, for his base price of Rs 30 lakh, at the recent IPL Mega Auction in Jeddah.

Earlier, Mumbai skipper Iyer hammered 10 sixes in his 55-ball 114 at a strike rate of 207. Ayush Mhatre (78), Hardik Tamore (84) and Shivam Dube (63 not out) made valuable contributions to the Mumbai innings. In total, Mumbai batters hit 21 sixes.

Pravin Dubey bagged two wickets, while Shreyas Gopal claimed one. Vidyadhar Patil went for 103 runs in his 10 overs, claiming one wicket for Karnataka.
