Sanju Samson's maiden T20I century ignited India's 133-run win and a clean sweep of the series against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Samson's swashbuckling 111 off 47 had powered India to their highest T20I total of 297/6. Captain Suryakumar Yadav had played a huge part with a 35-ball 75.
In response, the Bangladesh innings was restricted to 164/7, with Towhid Hridoy unbeaten on 63 off 42. Litton Das made a valiant 42. For India, Ravi Bishnoi, who was the only change from the second T20I, bagged three wickets. Mayank Yadav claimed two.
Opener Abhishek Sharma (4) had fallen to a poor shot off Tanzim. But when Sanju got going, no bowler was spared. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who bowled the 10th over, was hit for five consecutive sixes, including one that landed 105 metres away.
Sanju also whacked Mustafizur over extra cover on the back foot. His century came in 40 balls, with a boundary off off-spinner Mahedi Hasan. Sanju's innings was packed with raw power and finesse as he clubbed his way to the century.
After the dismissals of Sanju and Suryakumar, the responsibility of getting India from 206/3 in 15 overs to the milestone of 300 was on Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag. They did not disappoint and Pandya made 47 off 18 and Parag hit a 13-ball 34, getting India as close as possible to 300.
India had posted convincing wins in Gwalior and Delhi to seal the series.
