Washington: US President Donald Trump has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the White House for a meeting in February.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday, Trump shared details of a phone call he had with Modi earlier in the day. "I had a long conversation with him this morning. He’ll likely be visiting the White House next month. We have a strong relationship with India," Trump said.

According to PTI, when asked about the topics discussed, Trump mentioned, "Everything came up during the call."

This potential meeting follows the cordial ties between the two leaders, who previously addressed large gatherings together, including the "Howdy Modi" event in Houston in 2019 and the "Namaste Trump" rally in Ahmedabad in 2020. Trump's most recent international visit during his first term was to India.

Modi was also among the first global leaders to congratulate Trump following his electoral victory in November 2024.
