Chief Minister V D Satheesan, while briefing the media following the cabinet meeting on Monday, said that his Guruvayur temple darshan didn't cause any inconvenience to the public. Responding to allegations raised by BJP state vice-president B Gopalakrishnan that his VIP darshan at the Guruvayur Temple had violated temple rules, Satheesan said he had entered the temple after purchasing a ₹1,000 ticket.
“Only one gunman was present with me at the time, and I was accompanied only by those who normally visit the temple with me,” he said, adding that he had ensured no disturbance was caused to other devotees during the darshan.
He also highlighted the shortage of IAS officers in the state and said the government would undertake a rationalisation exercise across departments after consulting with the Ministers concerned.
Satheesan also addressed concerns regarding the environmental repercussions of the cargo ship MSC ELSA 3, which sank in June 2025. The Chief Minister said the actions taken by the previous government would be thoroughly investigated and necessary amendments made after assessing the long-term environmental impact.
Satheesan said land reforms would be undertaken to address issues faced by people in the state, especially in Idukki. He added that the government would quickly study the problems and take corrective measures.
