Thiruvananthapuram: A ninth-grade student was found dead at his home in Venganoor on Saturday.  The deceased Aloknath was found on the floor when his mother entered his room in the morning. With the help of a nurse who assisted the family, he was given first aid and rushed to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival. Bruises were found on his body.

The room was in disarray, with belongings scattered around. Aloknath’s father works in the Middle East, while he lived with his mother and younger sister, who is in UKG. His grandparents reside in a nearby house.

Family members stated that Aloknath had no known issues. Though preliminary investigations suggest that it is a case of suicide, the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police have sealed his room and launched an investigation. His mobile phone was collected by the police for examination.
