Thrissur: The Thrissur City Police arrested YouTuber Muhammad Shaheen Shah, alias Manavalan, in connection with an attempt to murder case. The accused was apprehended in Kodagu by shadow police, where he had been hiding for the past two months. The Thrissur West police had issued a lookout notice on December 24, 2024.
In the incident on April 19 2024, Shaheen rammed his car into a scooter, injuring two students, Gautam Krishna and Jyoti Bassu, on Kerala Varma College Road. Despite the students' attempts to move out of the way, Shaheen deliberately drove into them, causing serious injuries.
Later on, Shaheen went into hiding, prompting the police to issue the notice. The attack is believed to have stemmed from a conflict at Kerala Varma College, which led to the assault by a 10-member group led by Shaheen. The police have arrested nine members of the gang, with Shaheen still hiding.
