Thrissur: A man involved in a visa fraud case was arrested in Irinjalakuda here on Friday. The accused, Sunilkumar (53), son of Velayudhan from Chembiparambil House, Kizhuthani, Karalam village, had been on the run after allegedly defrauding people through a company named Agneera. The fraud involved collecting large sums of money by promising work visas for jobs abroad.

Sunilkumar, along with his wife Nisha Sunilkumar, deceived job seekers by claiming to arrange work visas for countries such as Hungary and the UK, specifically for packing jobs. Acting on the instructions of Thrissur Rural District Police Chief B Krishnakumar IPS, a special investigation team led by Irinjalakuda DySP KG Suresh apprehended the accused.

The investigation team included Inspector Anish Kareem, Sub-Inspectors Cleetus and Sreedharan, and senior civil police officers Rahul Ambadan, Vijosh, Satheesh Avittathur, and Abhilash CM.

Sunilkumar was produced before the court and remanded in custody.
