Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday denied anticipatory bail to Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Koottickal Jayachandran, who faces charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly molesting a minor girl.
The case, registered at Kasaba police station in Kozhikode in June 2024, is based on a woman’s complaint accusing the actor of sexually abusing her four-year-old daughter, exploiting their family dispute. Despite the charges, the police have not yet arrested Jayachandran.
Jayachandran is known for his roles in films such as ‘Drishyam’, ‘Chanthupottu’, ‘My Boss’, ‘Memories’, ‘Naradhan’, and ‘Pathonpatham Noottandu’.
