Kochi: The police have registered a case against 30 people following complaints by actor Honey Rose over obscene comments made on her social media post. The comments, posted under Honey's Facebook post, were deemed offensive and disrespectful.
Honey Rose had earlier shared a post on Facebook where she expressed that an individual on social media was defaming her. The comments appeared below her post, and she filed a complaint to the Ernakulam Central Police on Sunday night.
The police have filed charges under provisions related to obscene remarks, which could result in a prison sentence of up to one year or a fine. In her Facebook post, Honey Rose warned those using double meanings and ridiculing women on social media.
She acknowledged that while such offensive comments from mentally disturbed individuals were often ignored, she had now decided to take legal action on this matter.
The actress shared that she had been personally insulted during an event, and as a result, she decided not to attend any further functions held by the individual involved. She claimed that the person had intentionally used social media to defame her and insult her womanhood after she refused to participate in future events.
