Kochi: A 65-year-old man was discovered dead inside a car parked outside a hotel here, police confirmed on Sunday. The deceased is Joshi VK of Aluva.

A cab driver by profession, Joshi had arrived at the hotel with a guest on Saturday night. His death is believed to have occurred later that night after he returned to the vehicle, which was parked at the hotel, following the drop-off of the guest, PTI reported.

A police officer suggested that Joshi may have suffered a heart attack or another health issue, which caused him to collapse inside the car suddenly. Other cab drivers found Joshi's lifeless body inside the vehicle on Sunday morning.

"We reviewed the CCTV footage from the area. The visuals clearly show that he appeared to experience sudden discomfort before collapsing as he was about to enter the vehicle," the officer said. The exact cause of death will be confirmed following a post-mortem, police added, noting that an investigation is ongoing.
