Vigilance officials on Saturday arrested Madakkathara Village Officer Poly George for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 3,000 from a Right to Information (RTI) applicant in exchange for the requested documents..

The complainant informed Thrissur Vigilance DySP Mr Jim Paul about the matter, and the officials apprehended George from the village office at around 5:30 pm. while he was accepting the money.

The operation was conducted by a team led by DySP Jim Paul, with Inspector Jayesh Balan and officers Sis Baiju, Kamal Das, Arun, Saiju Soman, Vibeesh, Ganesh, Sudheesh, Ranjith, Sibin, and driver Ratheesh.
