Thiruvananthapuram: On his first day in office, Kerala Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar swiftly countered a state government decision by reinstating the security personnel who had served under his predecessor, Arif Mohammed Khan.
The Governor's decisive action reversed the state government's attempt to replace these trusted aides with personnel aligned with its interests and the State Home Department. Reports indicate that the replaced personnel had directly alerted the Governor about the changes, prompting Arlekar to question the rationale behind their removal.
To address the matter, Arlekar summoned ADGP Manoj Abraham, currently acting as the State Police Chief, to the Raj Bhavan. Following discussions with the affected officials, Arlekar requested an immediate meeting with the acting Director General of Police. Manoj Abraham promptly complied, ensuring the Governor’s concerns were addressed without delay.
