Kottayam: Setting aside his differences with the Nair Service Society (NSS), senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday inaugurated the public meeting marking the 148th Mannam Jayanthi celebrations. Returning to the NSS headquarters after a decade, Chennithala was welcomed by NSS General Secretary G Sukumaran Nair, who referred to him as the 'son of NSS.'
"I have always harboured a close bond with Perunna. No one can sever this bond. The NSS is an epitome of secularism," Chennithala said.
Meanwhile, Sukumaran Nair highlighted the enduring influence of Mannathu Padmanabhan’s vision on the organisation. “The uniqueness of the NSS lies in its unwavering adherence to Mannathu Padmanabhan’s philosophies. He brought about revolutionary transformations in the socio-cultural sphere. With extraordinary dedication, he created wonders from absolute nothingness and emerged as a timeless visionary,” he said.
Thousands gathered at the NSS headquarters to pay floral tributes at Mannam’s memorial. The event was attended by prominent figures from political, social, and cultural spheres.
