Pathanamthitta: Police arrested four people for attacking a carol group in Kumbanad, Thiruvalla, on Wednesday. The gang attacked the carol group on Tuesday night, leaving eight people injured, including women and children.

The accused in police custody are- Shein, Bibin, Anandhu and Ajin. According to police, 11 of the assailants are still absconding. The carol group of the Kumbanad Exodus church was attacked by the 15-member gang on Tuesday night. In their statement to police, the accused in custody said that an argument over not dimming headlight of the carole group's car led to the attack. Police have nabbed six people in connection with the attack on the carol group.

One of the attackers was captured by the carol group and handed over to the police, while the remaining four were arrested by Koyippuram police. A member of the Carol group stated that the attack was unprovoked.

The attackers forcibly opened the gate and entered the premises. The assault continued for nearly half an hour, and the attackers fled when the police arrived.
