Thiruvananthapuram: The Crime Branch will investigate the leak of question papers for the SSLC and Class 11 half-yearly Christmas examinations in state schools. The State Police Chief has delegated Crime Branch head H Venkatesh to lead the probe, following a complaint filed by the Director General of Education. This follows a previous leak during the Onam examinations, prompting the Kerala Police to launch a comprehensive investigation into the matter. A high-level meeting of the Education Department will be held under the leadership of Minister V Sivankutty on Monday.
On Saturday, Education Minister V Sivankutty warned of stringent action against those responsible for leaking the question papers. The Class 10 English and Class 11 Mathematics question papers for the half-yearly exams were leaked and circulated on YouTube channels before the exams. The minister also announced that action would be taken against these channels. He added that teachers are prohibited from engaging in private tuition, with strict action taken against those who violate these directives. The General Education Department has also launched an internal probe to determine whether any teachers or officials were involved in the leak.
The YouTube channel MS Solutions, which is under suspicion for leaking the Class 10 and 11 question papers, has suspended its operations. In a video, CEO Shuhaib from Koduvally stated that he would fully cooperate with the investigation. He confirmed that he had already provided a statement to education department officials. He also mentioned that he filed a complaint with the police over cyberattacks targeting him. In response to the allegations, Shuhaib has closed his tuition centre, which provided offline classes.
