Kozhikode: The Elathur HPCL depot has applied for a license renewal amid local protests against a recent fuel leak incident at the unit. The depot's current license is set to expire on December 31. However, locals are calling for the renewal to be denied.

Additionally, the Pollution Control Board has issued a show-cause notice to the depot, with a response time of 5 days. Based on this, a fine may be imposed on the depot, reported Manorama News. The district collector will make the decision regarding the license renewal.
