Kottayam man collapses and dies at Kochi airport duty-free shop

Kochi: A man collapsed and died at a duty-free shop at the Cochin International Airport on Friday. The deceased, Jimmy Simon Vettukattil (63), is a native of Ettumanoor in Kottayam. He also held US citizenship.
Jimmy arrived on an Emirates flight in the early hours of the day to visit his mother, and the incident happened while he was shopping at the duty-free store.

Despite being rushed to a private hospital in Angamaly, Jimmy could not be saved. He had lived in Chicago for the past 36 years and worked as a respiratory supervisor at Kindred Hospital, North Lake.
Jimmy is the son of the late Vettukattil Simon and Thankamma. He is survived by his wife, Rani Kadavil, a native of Kaduthuruthy, his children Nimmy, Neethu, and Toni, and his son-in-law, Unni.
