Veteran journalist A Sahadevan no more

Kottayam: Veteran journalist A Sahadevan, 72, passed away in Kottayam on Sunday. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Kottayam where he had been undergoing treatment for the past few days.
Sahadevan had been serving as a professor of journalism at Manorama School of Communication (MASCOM), Kottayam, for the past five years after an illustrious career in print and television media.
A native of Chengalam, Karuvarassery in Kozhikode, Sahadevan started his journalistic career with Mathrubhumi daily in 1982. After occupying various positions in Mathrubhumi, he shifted to television journalism in 2003, joining India Vision as its prgramme consultant. At India Vision, he produced and anchored '24 Frames', a programme introducing classic foreign films.
He is a recipient of the Pamban Madhavan Award for best journalism and a State Television Award in 2010. He has authored a short story collection titled, "Kanathaya kathakal" (The missing stories).
He is survived by wife Pushpa and daughter Charulekha.
