Railways will run six Rajadhani trains between Kerala and New Delhi in a week, starting from Tuesday.

The Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram train will run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday every week, while the return trains will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

The trains will stop only at Kozhikode and Ernakulam railway stations. It will operate via Konkan route.

The Railways has decided to resume passenger train services to 15 destinations from Tuesday, 50 days after it stopped operations because of the nation-wide lockdown due to coronavirus.

Special Trains

Tickets will be available only through Indian Railway Catering Corporation (IRCTC) website. Click here to visit IRCTC website.

Within 10 minutes after ticket booking was made available, all AC-1 and AC-3 tickets for the Howrah-New Delhi train were sold, and tickets for all seats were sold within 20 minutes. The Howrah-New Delhi train is scheduled to begin its journey from Howrah at 5:05 pm on Tuesday.

As per the ticket availability on the website, all AC-1 and AC-3 tickets for the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi special trains were also sold by 6.30 pm.

Two stops in Kerala

The New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram and return trains will stop only at Ernakulam and Kozhikode railway stations. The following Rajdhani superfast special trains will be run between New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram Central as detailed below.

1. Rajdhani superfast special train from New Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram Central


Train No.02432 New Delhi – Thiruvananthapuram Central Rajdhani superfast special train will leave New Delhi at 11.25 hrs. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays from 13.05.2020 and reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 05.25 hrs. on the third day.

Composition: AC First Class – 1, AC 2-tier – 5 and AC 3-tier – 11 coaches.
Stoppages with timings: Kota – 16.00 / 16.10 hrs.; Vadodara – 22.50 / 23.08 hrs.; Panvel – 05.00 / 05.05 hrs.; Madgaon – 13.02 / 13.12 hrs.; Mangalore Jn. – 18.25 / 18.35 hrs.; Kozhikode – 21.52 / 21.55 hrs. and Ernakulam Jn. – 01.40 / 01.45 hrs.

2. Rajdhani superfast special train from Thiruvananthapuram Central to New Delhi


Train No.02431 Thiruvananthapuram Central – New Delhi Rajdhani superfast special train will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 19.45 hrs. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 15.05.2020 and reach New Delhi at 12.40 hrs. on the third day.


Composition: AC First Class – 1, AC 2-tier – 5 and AC 3-tier – 11 coaches.
Stoppages with timings: Ernakulam Jn. – 23.10 / 23.15 hrs.; Kozhikode – 02.47 / 02.50 hrs.; Mangalore Jn. – 06.00 / 06.10 hrs.; Madgaon – 10.40 / 10.50 hrs.; Panvel – 18.59 / 19.04 hrs.; Vadodara – 00.36 / 00.56 hrs. and Kota – 07.25 / 07.35 hrs.

Rajadhani fare

Passengers have to shell out Rajadhani train fare.

Tatkal, premium tatkal and current reservation facilities will not be available in these trains.

Ticket booking counters at railway stations will remain closed and no counter tickets (including platform tickets) will be issued.

No blankets, bedsheets

In view of he COVID-19 scare, the Railways will not distribute blankets and bedsheets in the air conditioned coaches.

Passengers encouraged to carry own linen, food, drinking water; dry, ready-to-eat food, bottled water to be provided on payment.

Regulations

Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter railway stations.

Passengers should wear face cover and undergo screening at departure.

Only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the trains.

Passengers shall reach station at least 90 minutes in advance to facilitate thermal screening.

All passengers advised to download and use Aarogya Setu application.

Booking and cancellation

Advance reservation period will be max 7 days; No RAC, waiting list ticket; on board booking by ticket checking staff not permitted.

Online cancellation permitted up to 24 hrs before scheduled departure; Cancellation charge to be 50 per cent of fare.
