Thiruvananthapuram: A day after the body of a missing 15-year-old girl was found from a well on the premises of her house in Nedumangadu in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram district, her mother has reportedly confessed to killing her and disposing the body with the help of her lover. Both of them have been remanded.

The woman, Manjusha, confessed that she strangled her daughter after a squabble and was helped by her lover, Aneesh, in committing the crime. She also told the cops that she had taken the body on Aneesh's bike and had tied hollow bricks on to the body, before dumping it into the well.

Manjusha had initially given a statement that her daughter had committed suicide after she scolded her and she had dumped the body in the well near Aneesh's house.

The police, however, refused to buy her statement.

It is suspected that the murder was committed on June 11. Internal organs of the deceased would be sent for advanced tests to ascertain if she was sexually assaulted.

The teen's body was dumped in a well allegedly by the duo, who then fled to Tamil Nadu. The police then tracked them down and questioned them, revealing the details of the cold-blooded murder.

Murder charges have been slapped on Manjusha and Aneesh.

Autopsy also confirmed it to be a case of murder.

Initial defence

During the interrogation, the duo revealed that they were having an affair and the girl had a fight with her mother over this and she hanged herself in the house.

Manjusha reportedly told her husband that their daughter had been missing since June 10. Claiming that she was going in search of her daughter in Tirupur in Tamil Nadu, Manjusha had fled with Aneesh. As there was no communication even after days, Manjusha's father Rajendran filed a complaint with the police, who managed to track them down.

The girl used to live with Manjusha at a rented home in Nedumangadu. Manjusha, who has been living separately from her husband, allegedly got close to neighbour Aneesh.
