Thrissur: Thrissur native Valsala has won the Kerala Thiruvonam bumper lottery first prize of Rs 10 crore.

The ticket, TB 128092 , sold by SS Maniyan Agency at Padinjare Kotta in Thrissur hit the jackpot. Lady luck smiled on Valsala, a widow, who lives in a rented house at Adat, along with her three children.

After the commission amount is deducted, Valsala will get Rs 6.34 crore. The agency will be richer by Rs 1 crore while agent Ravi will get Rs 10 lakh after tax deductions. She was forced to move to a rented place after her house collapsed.

The lottery department printed 45 lakh Onam bumper lottery tickets in ten series. Of these, 43.11 lakh tickets were sold. The ticket price was Rs 250.

Ten people will get the second prize of Rs 50 lakh and twenty people will take home the third prize of Rs 10 lakh.

Nine others will get the consolation prize of Rs 5 lakh each. Another twenty will also pocket Rs 5 lakh each as the fourth prize.

The other prize denominations are Rs 1 lakh, Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000, Rs 1,000 and Rs 500.

Last year, a native of Parappanangadi in Malappuram, Muttakkaramal Musthafa, won the jackpot of Rs 10 crore.
