PM Modi, BJP leaders visit Manmohan Singh’s residence to pay tribute

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to the late former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by laying a wreath of flowers at his mortal remains. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda also visited Singh's residence to offer their tributes.
India will observe a seven-day mourning period, with government events cancelled today. The Congress party has also announced a seven-day mourning period, postponing celebrations for its founding day.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, and arrangements will be made for Singh's final resting place near Raj Ghat, the resting place of Mahatma Gandhi. The public viewing of Singh's body will begin on Saturday at the Congress headquarters. The schedule for the funeral ceremonies will be decided at a Cabinet meeting at 11 am on Friday.
Prime Minister Modi remembered Singh as a key figure in shaping India's economic policies. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his grief over losing a mentor and guide, while Mallikarjun Kharge and A K Antony described the visionary leader's passing as a great loss to the nation.
